It's hard to believe but Katie is now a teenager. She has blossomed from a young girl interested in playing pollies for hours to a young woman who likes to hang with her friends, talk on the phone, go shopping and to the movies. While she will always be the sunshine of my life, I'm seeing her burst from her cocoon and sprouting wings like a butterfly. One day I know that she will leave home and make her own way in the world. So I treasure this time to get to know her and steal the precious moments that she shares with me. One thing that I really treasure about this young lady is that no matter that she is getting older, she hasn't stopped loving Christ and talking to Him just like she did when she was a little girl. This year, Katie is back in school and enjoying making new friends. Her colors are brown and blue or brown and pink. She is strong in her opinions and becoming her own person. Her favorite country singer is Reba and probably would faint dead away if she ever met her. She plays her music over and over...not to speak of, loves to watch her show. I think Katie might just be Reba McEntire's favorite fan. As Katie gets older, I'm seeing more of her Portuguese/Hispanic and Aztec heritage showing through her high cheek bones, almond shaped eyes and dark hair. She's going to be one striking beauty when she gets older. And unfortunately for me, the boys are already seeing that. Thankfully, they still all have cooties.
