Tiramisu

 

2/3 C sifted powdered sugar

1 (8oz.) cream cheese

1 1/2C cool whip thawed and divided

1/2 C sugar

¼ C water

3 egg whites

½ C hot water

1T sugar

1T instant espresso powder

2 T kahlua or coffee flavor

1 pound cake

1/2 teas unsweetened cocoa

 

Combine powdered sugar and cream cheese; beat at high speed until well blended. 

 

Gently fold 1 C cool whip into mixture. 

 

Combine 1/2 C sugar, 1/4 C water, and egg whites in top of a double boiler; place over simmering water. Beat at high speed till stiff peaks form. 

 

Gently stir 1/4 of white mixture into cheese mixture.

 

Gently fold in remaining whites mixture; set aside.

 

Combine 1/2 C hot water, 1 T sugar, espresso, coffee flavor; stir well.

 

Arrange slices of pound cake on bottom and sides of casserole baking dish. 

Drizzle 1/2 of espresso mixture over cake slices.

Spread ½ of cheese mixture over cake slices.

Lay thin slices of pound cake over mixture.

Then alternate espresso mix, cheese mix, ½ C cool whip

Garnish with grated chocolate.
